The castle dates from the 12th to the 15th centuries. It is characterized by walls and towers of rough bricks and stone foundations.The wall of Bahla is a defensive wall with unique tightness extending for a distance of approximately 7 miles (12 km). Some of the views indicate that it was established during the Persian presence in the region, while some believe that the Nabhanis created it when they made their capital Bahla.
